Tekken 8 is officially out, and fans have already started anticipating the guest characters, to which Tekken director Harada has an interesting response. Some Final Fantasy 7 fans, however, are going so far as to rabidly want Tifa Lockhart to be part of Tekken 8’s guest roster.
Dear @SquareEnix & @Harada_TEKKEN,
Please can we get Tifa in Tekken 8. She would be perfect! 🐬👢👊#TifaforTekken #TEKKEN8 pic.twitter.com/S6guFJwNWH

Ever since Bandai Namco revealed the newest installment in the Tekken franchise, fans have bombarded the developers with guest character requests. Another notable request was to add Kiryu Kazuma from Sega’s Yakuza series (definitely something we’d love to see as well).
Taking to Twitter, Katsuhiro Harada, the director of Tekken, finally responded to the constant requests of Tifa’s fans.
We all know she is attractive and I understand that.
But as yet we have not decided anything about guest characters etc. https://t.co/dkuMm1pnGG— Katsuhiro Harada (@Harada_TEKKEN) January 26, 2024
He tweeted that he was aware of how attractive she is (a man of culture indeed); however, the team behind Tekken has not decided on guest characters yet.
While he has neither confirmed nor denied Tifa’s being considered a guest character, it certainly isn’t entirely impossible. Tekken 7 fans might be aware that the guest roster included Noctis from Final Fantasy 15.
All we can say for now is that Tifa fans shouldn’t lose any hope because, considering the requests, the Seventh Heaven Manager just might join the tournament.
Tekken 8 is out across PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X and Series S, and PC, with 32 characters.
